I'm looking forward to seeing the lovely creations they will produce at the end of the 4 workshops.
Hopefully more classes will follow in the near future.
Next month I will be taking part in the Wirksworth Festival. I will be part of the arts trail which takes place over the second weekend of September. Artists are exhibiting all over Wirksworth and I have the very unusual venue of a vintage carriage at the railway station. I haven't taken part in a festival before but I'm really looking forward to being part of such a lovely event.
Im also currently have a couple of commissions that I am working on. These are lovely to do as you can personalise the painting to make them really special.

July 2011

July is a really busy month for me with 2 lovely events happening at the start and end of the month. On the 9th July I will be taking part in West Hallam Well Dressings art market. One of my illustrations has also been used for the marketing of the event, thanks to Rachel of rachelhelendesigns.com.
I will also be taking part in the Kedleston Hall craft fair at Derby on the last weekend of July. It will be the first time I've taken part in such a big event but I'm really looking forward to it. I've got lots of preperation to do though so I'm going to have a busy few weeks ahead of me!

-

This weekend ( 28th to 30th May ) I will be taking part in Derbyshire Open Arts at Banks Mill Studios in Derby.
My work can now also be seen at St John Street Gallery in Ashbourne.

May 2011

I have at last finished my painting of Irongate in Derby! It is of Irongate in Derby and is almost double the size of any painting that I have done before. Although this means it has taken longer to complete it has also meant I can include a lot more detail into the image, I like how it's turning out and will definately work on this scale again. The painting part is almost finished I've just got a lot of ink to go on and it will be done.
My work is now for sale at the very lovely Gallery 52 at Brailsford. It is full of beautiful arts and crafts and is well worth a visit if you are looking for a gift or just want to treat yourself!
I have just found out that West Hallam Well Dressing will be using my well dressing image for the marketing of their event in July. I will also be having a stall at the Arts Market there on Saturday 9th July so I had better get planning for that as time seems to fly by at the moment.

March 2011

March has started out quite busy, I've been moving the studio into my home which will be lovely. I will be staying an associate member of Banks Mill who have been an amazing support to me while I was starting up my business.
I have just started work on a painting of Melbourne after a visit last week. There are some beautiful old buildings there and it is a place with real character.
I'm also still working on a painting of Irongate in Derby.
I'm still busy making my paper mâché models. I'm pleased to report that the fairies have started travelling outside Derbyshire and last week I posted a fairy out to a lovely customer in Whitby. You can find my fairies for sale at Derby museum and Art Gallery Shop or contact me through this website if you have any special requests.
